Eligibility

• 5-Year LLB: Class 12 (any stream) with at least 45% for General (lower, around 40%, for reserved categories; exact relaxations are in the CET Cell brochure). Students appearing in Class 12 can apply. No age limit.
• 3-Year LLB: a graduate degree (any discipline) with at least 45% (relaxation for reserved categories as per the brochure). Final-year students can apply.

Exam Pattern (2026, revised from 150 to 120 questions)

5-Year LLB — 120 questions, 120 marks, 2 hours

3-Year LLB — 120 questions, 120 marks, 2 hours

• 1 mark per question, no negative marking, online CBT.
• The section splits are from Lawentrance, Physics Wallah and Careers360 (2025–26). Confirm them in the 2027 brochure.
• For reference: the 3-year LLB CET 2026 was held on 1–2 April 2026.

Syllabus — Topics

• Legal Aptitude: legal maxims and terms, basics of the Indian Constitution, law of torts, contracts, criminal law (basic principles), applying given legal principles to fact situations.
• GK & Current Affairs: national and international news from the last 12 months, Maharashtra-specific GK, awards, sports, science and technology, appointments, static GK (history, geography, polity, economy).
• Logical & Analytical Reasoning: syllogisms, arrangements, blood relations, coding-decoding, series, statement–conclusion, critical reasoning.
• English: reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, fill in the blanks.
• Basic Maths (5-year): percentages, ratios, profit & loss, averages, time & work, simple and compound interest (Class 10 level).

Preparation Timeline

• 5-Year: start in Class 12 (around October). 4–6 months is enough. Many students prepare for CLAT and MH CET Law together, with about 70% overlap.
• 3-Year: start 4–5 months before the exam (around November–December of your final year).
• Read a newspaper daily (The Hindu / Indian Express) plus a monthly current-affairs magazine.
• 5-year: Legal and Logical Reasoning carry the most questions (32 each). 3-year: English carries the most (40).

Tips: There's no negative marking, so attempt every question. You get 1 minute per question (120 questions in 120 minutes). In the 3-year paper, English is the biggest section (40 questions). Take at least 20 full mocks.
