Eligibility

• Class 12 (appearing in 2027, or passed in 2026; sources conflict on whether earlier passers are eligible, so check the brochure) with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (for B.E.) or PCB (for B.Pharm).
• At least 75% aggregate in PCM/PCB, with at least 60% in each of P, C, M/B.
• Board toppers get direct admission (no BITSAT needed).
• No reservations (except for Board toppers).

Exam Pattern

• Duration: 3 hours, no sectional time limits.
• Marking: +3 / −1.
• Bonus questions: if you answer all 130 before time runs out, you can take 12 extra questions (most sources: 3 each from Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology and Logical Reasoning). They use the same +3/−1 marking, so the maximum score becomes 426. Once you choose the bonus, you can't go back to the earlier questions.

Syllabus — Topics

• Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology: NCERT Class 11 & 12 (very close to JEE Main).
• English Proficiency: grammar (agreement, tenses, parts of speech, error spotting), vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, analogies, idioms, one-word substitution), reading comprehension, composition (sentence rearrangement, paragraph unity).
• Logical Reasoning: verbal reasoning (analogy, classification, series, logical deduction, chart logic) and non-verbal reasoning (pattern perception, figure formation and analysis, paper cutting, figure matrix, rule detection).

Preparation Timeline

• JEE Main preparation covers about 85%. Add English and LR practice from Class 12, around December.
• BITSAT is a speed test: 130 questions in 180 minutes is about 1.4 minutes each. Take at least 15–20 BITSAT-specific mocks in March–May.
• Cutoffs (rough): CS at Pilani needs about 330+/390. Other branches and campuses are lower.

Tips: Solve the easy questions first, then the moderate ones. Skip long calculations. Maths is 120 marks, the biggest section. Getting the bonus questions needs serious speed, so only toppers usually reach them.
