PUNE, MAHARASHTRA – The Directorate of Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary), Maharashtra State, has announced a significant revision to the schedule for the Std. 11th (First Year Junior College - FYJC) Centralized Online Admission Process for the academic year 2025-26. The much-awaited final merit list will now be declared on June 11, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of June 8.
The decision, signed by Dr. Shriram Mahadu Panzade, I.C. Director of Education, was made to ensure a smooth and fair admission process for all students.
Why Was the Schedule Revised?
According to the official circular, the schedule was adjusted after it was noted that approximately 84,000 students had completed Part-1 of the application form but had not locked their college preferences in Part-2.
To provide these students with an adequate opportunity, the deadline for filling and locking Part-2 of the form was extended until 12:30 PM on June 7, 2025. This extension created a domino effect, necessitating changes to subsequent dates, including the period for grievance redressal on the provisional merit list and the final merit list declaration, to ensure all objections are properly addressed.
The circular states that this revision will provide sufficient time for the allocation of seats based on merit across various quotas—including Management, In-house, Minority, and CAP rounds—for the 12,71,000 applications received.
Revised Admission Schedule (Key Dates)
Students, parents, and junior colleges must take note of the following updated timeline for Round 1 of the admission process:
Grievance on Provisional Merit List - June 7, 2025 to June 9, 2025
Finalization of General Merit List - June 11, 2025
Zero Round Admission (Quota) - June 12, 2025 to June 14, 2025
Display of CAP Round-1 Allotment List - June 26, 2025
Admission Confirmation for CAP Round-1 - June 27, 2025 to July 3, 2025
Display of Vacancy for Round-2 - July 5, 2025
Crucial Instructions for Students and Parents
The Directorate has reiterated several important rules that students must follow:
First Preference Allotment: If a student is allotted the junior college that was their first preference, they must take admission in that college. Failure to do so will result in the student being blocked from participating in the subsequent regular rounds (Round 2, 3, and 4).
Not Taking Admission: If a student does not wish to take admission in an allotted college (which is not their first preference), they can wait for the next round.
Cancelling Admission: A student who wishes to cancel a confirmed admission must request the respective junior college. Such students will also be restricted from the next regular admission round.
